Kris Davis has quickly grown to become a vital contributor to New York’s jazz scene. Her turbulent, open-structured pieces have caught the ears of The New York Times, which recently included her in an article about four pianists titled “New Pilots at the Keyboard” and wrote: “Over the last couple of years in in New York one method for deciding where to hear jazz on a given night has been to track down pianist Kris Davis.”
For her New Music Circle performance, Kris Davis will be joined by Ingrid Laubrock (saxophone), Tom Rainey (drums), Matt Maneri (viola), and Eivind Opsvik (bass).
